The two remembrances....

This is a great coincidence: the conjunction of two remembrances.

On the 5th of September we remember, with gratitude, the teachers of this country: present and past. In a famous quote by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan- A symbol of academics and education, he was a renowned philosopher, statesman as well as a teacher, who said "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5th September is observed as Teachers’ Day," the day originated.

On this day we also remember, with reverence, Mother Teresa-St Teresa of Calcutta, who, in her own right, was the Teacher of teachers.

Mother said-"By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus."

The conjunction of the teachers’ day with the Mother’s Day is a significant one. Mother Teresa was a teacher unconfined to classrooms. In her life and work we find the essential goals of education addressed and realized, with the globe itself was her classroom.

She taught not only with words but, even more, through deeds. Students do not experience what they learn in classrooms. Mother Teresa’s teaching transformed lives because she incarnated knowledge and integrated belief and behaviour, which is the essence of holistic education. She put the spotlight all through her work on character formation. By activating a caring culture, she contributed to social wholeness and nation-building. The spirit of service is the weakest aspect of our social culture and national character. The rising tidal waves of corruption are a byproduct of this deficiency in character.

Mother Teresa has proved that teachers can be social healers.

While doctors and hospitals specialize in healing individuals, teachers can heal societies and nations.

"School Ke Bahar Jab Zindagi Imtihaan Leti he Toh Subject wise nahi leti he "

A good teacher is a national treasure.

She is also a happy and dignified human being.

Happy Teacher's Day.....to all my Teachers, Masters, Professors, Lecturers, Mentors and also my Maestros in Musical Journey.....

I am deeply thankful to you all. For you are the pillars of my success...
